Reggaeton Superstars Daddy Yankee and Don Omar stop by the Amway Center in Orlando Florida for “The Kingdom Tour”
The Amway Center in Orlando, FL was rocking last night as Daddy Yankee and Don Omar battled it out to see who was the true king of Reggaton. “The Kingdom Tour” rolled into the city after making stops in New York and Miami and before the final stop of this 4-city swing hits Los Angeles.
This event has broken attendance records since it began in late 2015, bringing together more than 50 thousand people in 4 functions filled to capacity at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Puerto Rico.
Daddy Yankee, aka Ramón Ayala Rodríguez, brought the energy. After a dramatic opening, pyro, flames and dazzling graphics included, Daddy and his 10 dancers (5 gyrating female sirens and 5 military themed men) stomped the stage with his hit “Rompe” as the crowd happily cheered along. He kept the straight rap-reggation with “King Daddy”. Next up, “Lo Que Paso Paso”, with the crowd singing along and dancing to Daddy Yankee’s reggaton party.
Daddy Yankee also performed hits “Shaky, Shaky”, “Lovumba”, “Sigueme Y Te Sigo”, “Panda (Remix)”, “Limbo”, monster hit “Gasolina”, and many more. He paid tribute to Orlando and did not hesitate to shout out Puerto Rico, drawing a roar from the sold out crowd.
Then it was time for Don Omar, aka William Omar Landrón Rivera. After a dramatic intro, pyro, fire streams, and dazzling graphics as well, The Don and his 10 dancers (also 5 female and 5 male) went right into “Hasta Abajo”, “Guava Guava”, “Dale Don Dale”, “Dile”, all of which the crowd sang word for word. Where Daddy Yankee brought the energy, Don Omar was smooth and confident in his set. On many songs, he merely had to start he song and the crowd took over, singing whole verses as he held out the mike to them. His face showed how touched he was by the love from the crowd.
Many of Don Omar’s songs have emotion, such as “Bondelaros”, “Pobre Diabla”, and “Ayer La Vi”. He switches up the style and sound with “Virtual Diva” which has more of a synth edge to it, and “Salio El Sol” with a more of a different type of reggaton bounce.
After the Don Omar’s set, Daddy Yankee joined him onstage for a 4 song encore, including an “Hasta Abajo remix”, “Gata Gangster”, “Desafio”, and a “Kuduro” remix.
